Shaktiyogashrama takes pleasure in announcing its 27th Shivratri Festival from the 11th to 13th of February 2010. On this auspicious occasion the ashram will come alive with a a CULTURAL AWARENESS CAMP initiated to spread the values of holistic living, cultural rootedness & spiritual orientation and culminate in an all night CULTURAL PROGRAMME of Classical Dance and Music performance.

CULTURAL AWARENESS CAMP MODULES - 11th to 13th February
* Classical Indian Dance by Smt. Mandakini Trivedi & assisted by Ms. Miti Desai
* Mythology by Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik
* Right Eating by Dr.Vijaya Venkat
* Yoga by Sri Parimal Devnath
* Meditation by Smt. Mandakini Trivedi
* Trek in the Jungle

CULTURAL PROGRAMME - 12th February 2010, 9.00 pm onwards.

CLASSICAL INDIAN DANCE
* Mohini Attam Recital - by Ms. Miti Desai.
Mohini Attam is a gentle and lyrical classical dance style from Kerala.

* Shiva Parvati Vivaha - A solo dance ballet by Smt. Mandakini Trivedi.
Shiva - Parvati vivaha is a solo dance ballet based on Kalidasa’s Kumarasambhava. It describes the inner journey that Parvati makes as she strives towards her goal of marrying Shiva, her consort, her beloved, her very own Self.
The form takes inspiration from the techniques of Bharat Natyam , Mohini Attam & Kathakali.

HINDUSTANI GAYAN by Shri Jayateerth Mevundi.
Shri Jayateerth Mevundi will present select pieces typical of the Kirana Gharana and suitable to the ocassion of Maha Shivaratri.

VENUE: Shaktiyogashrama - Village Telbaila, 32 kms. off Lonavla
The route by road is -Lonavla - Bushydam - I.N.S. Shivaji - Pethshapur (take a right turn towards) - Mazgaon - Saltar - Telbaila. S.T. Buses going to Bhamburda or Vandre will be available from the Lonavla S.T. stand at 11.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. These buses can take you to the ashram from Lonavla. The journey to the ashram is roughly 75 mins.

TRAVEL: Can be arranged from Lonavla on request.
